Program Guide Sheets for Secondary (5-12) teaching majors

Select from the following list for a sample of the course requirements for the state approved teacher licensure programs offered by The University of Iowa College of Education. These lists can be used to guide you through your program once admitted and will be required to accompany the licensure application when you have completed your program.

Initial licensure is obtained through a program outlined as a teaching major.

The Secondary (5-12) teaching majors allow you to obtain initial licensure by completing the courses outlined on the major guides. You may then add additional 5-12 licensure areas by completing the minor area coursework.

Note: You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to access these lists.
