Program Information

M.A. in Curriculum and Supervision

The Master of Arts in curriculum and supervision prepares teachers and administrators for positions as consultants, directors, and coordinators in curriculum development. It is offered with thesis and nonthesis options.

M.A. in Educational Leadership

The Master of Arts in Educational Leadership, in the Department of Educational Policy and Leadership Studies, prepares individuals for appointments as school principals and office administrators, and for positions in AEAs and the state department of education.

Ph.D. in Curriculum and Supervision

The Ph.D. in Curriculum and Supervision is granted in the Department of Teaching and Learning.  The purpose of the degree is, first and foremost, to produce a school-based researcher.  Coursework related to research methodology is set at a minimal accumulation of 18 credit hours.  The coursework in the Curriculum and Supervision core is aligned with school theory and development concerns and is designed to prepare graduates for some involvement with curriculum development initiatives, at either the K-12 or post-secondary level.
