Ph.D. in Curriculum & Supervision

The Ph.D. in Curriculum and Supervision is granted in the Department of Teaching and Learning.  The purpose of the degree is, first and foremost, to produce a school-based researcher.  Coursework related to research methodology is set at a minimal accumulation of 18 credit hours.  The coursework in the Curriculum and Supervision core is aligned with school theory and development concerns and is designed to prepare graduates for some involvement with curriculum development initiatives, at either the K-12 or post-secondary level.

Admissions

Admission to the PhD program is competitive and some merit-based departmental support is available for a small selection of full time students.  All candidates should have some education-related experience.  Students with Masters degrees can apply up to about 30 credit hours to the program.

For more information on admission requirements for the Ph.D program, please consult the General Catalog.
