Course Description

Methods for Teaching Mathematics in Grades K-6. The main course emphases include: teaching arithmetic algorithms, using and teaching problem solving, applying different learning theories to different instructional goals, examining commercially available instructional materials, looking at the history of classroom practices related to achievement patterns, using stories to teach mathematics, etc.
