Course Description
This course examines the influence of social factors such as discrimination, socioeconomic inequality, sexism and racism on educational opportunity in American education. The course utilizes historical, sociological, and educational perspectives to examine the experiences of minorities in American schools.  Students learn to respect their students’ diverse cultures and to relate effectively with individuals from various subgroups other than ones own.
