Course Description
The purpose of this course is to examine theories, which attempt to account for the development in art by children and adolescents. Art by children from a variety of cultures and special populations will be surveyed. This knowledge will provide a foundation for developing your philosophy of art and teaching that will be the basis for your art teaching experiences later in methods classes. A community-based art teaching experience is intended to introduce you to implementation of art theories as well as help you in exploring your special interests. Your CASE STUDY and reflective journal will focus on a single individual from this experience.
