About
the Social Committee
The College
of Education created a Staff Social Committee in the fall
of 2000. Volunteers were recruited from each unit and department
to present ideas to help staff to get to know other in the
College and develop camaraderie. Some Committee activities
include potlucks, monthly staff appreciation treats, and games
with prizes. Philanthropic activities include partnerships
with Concern for Women, and UIHC DeGowan Blood Center. To
fund these events the Committee has held shirt sales, bake
sales, sales of a College of Education Cook Book, and hosted
book fairs.
Our
Mission
The
mission of The College of Education Staff Social Committee
is to
enhance the social environment for staff in our workplace.
We
strive to fulfill this mission by providing activities and
events which
focus on socialization, appreciation, recognition, wellness,
and philanthropy.
