Information for Current Students

APPLICATIONS FOR THE PROGRAM HAVE NOW DEFINITELY CLOSED. WE WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY MORE STUDENTS IN THE PROGRAM.

Who can apply to Program RELEVANCE ?

Applicants to Program RELEVANCE must fulfill ALL of the following conditions :

  • applicants must be K-12 inservice teachers.
  • applicants must be teaching in Iowa.
  • applicants must be teaching in a SINA (School In Need of Assistance). Check to see if your school qualifies.
  • applicants cannot hold an ESL endorsement.

    • A second set of official academic records/transcripts.
    • At least three (3) letters of recommendation. Please use our recommendation form.
    • Include in the recommendation forms at least one (1) letter of recommendation from a building administrator stating the benefit of having you do coursework that leads to the ESL endorsement.
    • A statement of purpose explaining your graduate study and professional goals.

Application

Program requirements

Graduate College admission requirements : the minimum requirements for admission to the Graduate College are:

  • A bachelor’s degree from a Regionally Accredited American college or university, or an equivalent degree from another country as determined by the Office of Admissions.
  • A minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00, or the foreign equivalent as determined by the Office of Admissions

Students must complete 21 credit hour ESL endorsement approved by the Iowa Department of Education.

Financial support

All students admitted in the program will be provided with full financial support for application and tuition fees. Nevertheless, failure to complete any of the required courses could lead to a ceasing of funding based on a collegial consultation of all Project RELEVANCE staff members.
