REACH recognizes the unique attributes of each potential REACH student and seeks to identify those who are most likely to benefit. The REACH application and interview process is designed to determine the compatibility of an applicant’s learning performance, current life skills, motivation, and job interests with the program goals. The REACH Program Overview provides information about a typical student, comments from parents, and unique experiences at REACH.

To be considered for Fall enrollment, the student and family are highly encouraged to submit all application materials by February. Families are encouraged to begin the admission process as early as possible. There is no enrollment during the spring semester.

When all application materials for a student are received, a student's file is reviewed by members of the Admissions Committee. If the student is a possible candidate, the family will be invited to campus for an interview.  The interview allows the student to express his or her interests and to ask questions. Parents/guardians discuss relevant applicant information and gain a better understanding of the REACH Program.

Students are admitted into the Program on an ongoing basis. Decisions for admission into the program follow a review of all information by members of the Admissions Committee.  An evaluation of an individual’s overall abilities and interests, rather than a diagnosis or test scores alone, determines if a student will be admitted.

Admissions Eligibility

Once admission decisions have been made, letters for admission, deferral, or a non-admittance are sent to the family, typically within two weeks after the interview. Due to the limited spaces in the program, some eligible students may not be immediately enrolled into the program. These students will have the option of being placed on a Wait List.
