HOWARD R. JONES ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Description
This award is presented to a graduate student in any program in the College of Education who, during the period March 1, 2007 and February 29, 2008 has made a noteworthy scholarly presentation at a national professional conference or who has published a scholarly article in a reputable journal or other major publication.

Nomination by a faculty member is required but students are encouraged to submit papers and presentations.

$500

Eligibility

  • Graduate student in any program
  • Full or part-time students
  • Former students recently completing a degree program are eligible provided the individual was enrolled as a graduate student in the College of Education at the time the presentation was made or the published article was written.
  • An article for which there are joint authors may be considered with the possibility of dual awards, but all joint authors must be students or graduates registered in a program in the College of Education at the time the scholarly work was completed. Actual publication or presentation of a manuscript is not required if acceptance and assurance of publication or presentation has been received by the author during the dates specified above.

How to Apply
Submit a detailed letter of nomination that includes pertinent data concerning the nominee and a statement providing specific information about the importance of the student’s work, along with a copy of the text of the presentation or article, to:
