EMMA BAUMAN HOLMES EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

This award is made possible by Dr. Emma Bauman Holmes sho received her Ph.D. in Elementary Education from The University of Iowa.  She received her A.B. in Psychology from Mount Holyoke College and her M.A. in Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  Dr. Holmes' professional career spanned over forty years during which she served as a classroom teacher in Elmhurst, Illinois and San Jose, California; as an instructor at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana; and as a professor of education and child development in the Department of Elementary and Bilingual Education at California State University at Fullerton from which she retired in 1990.  Dr. Holmes authored a number of books about teaching mathematics to elementary school children and was named an Outstanding Educator in America.
