Academic Advising

When you are admitted to the master's program, one of the faculty members listed above will be assigned as your adviser. This person will guide you through your program, so it is important that you meet with him or her at the beginning of your program and on a regular basis thereafter. Your adviser will also chair your comprehensive exam committee.

Occasionally students decide that they would work better with someone other than their assigned advisor. If, for any reason, you decide to change advisers, you may request to do so. You must find another school counseling faculty member who is willing to take over as your advisor, notify your current advisor of your decision, and complete a change of advisor form available from the Division secretaries.
