Examined the development, administration, and
scoring of an Individualized Reading Inventory
and Standardized Reading Test; observed techniques
for guided reading for emergent readers through
activation of prior knowledge and prediction
strategies that encourage self-monitoring; developed
progress charts and participated in a case study.
Knowledgeable in basal and literature-based
programs.
Methods Practicum, College of Education,
Spring 200x
Sixteen-week experience including two-week orientation
consisting of technology review, lesson plan
development, assessment, classroom management,
and professionalism issues. Fourteen week experience
at practicum site-Horn Elementary,1/2nd grade,
Iowa City, Iowa.
- Planned
lessons for individual students, small groups
and whole class; adapted lessons for diverse
student learning styles.
- Used
various management strategies and assessed
instruction with daily reflections and journaling,
and regular conferences with cooperating teachers
and university supervisors.
- Integrated
multimedia and web-based authoring and management
skills uploading all lesson plans, reflections,
and assessments using a web-based calendar.
