First Grade

Purpose:
Building community in the first grade classroom

Activity:
Students write responses to questions on books they read as partners.

Students take turns writing so that each partners' ideas are included.

Outcome:
This activity:

• Helps the students build respect for one another
• Teachers them the importance of taking turns
• Stresses the importance of each partner's ideas being heard.
