There are all kinds of perceived boundaries. Whether they be physical, cultural, or sociological, restrictions are all around us. Where some may be hindered by these limitations, The University of Iowa College of Education recognizes opportunity. By embracing these challenges and breaking new ground, we move beyond the ordinary and toward excellence.
There are many ways to measure excellence. High national rankings, strong leadership, cutting-edge technology, and international recognition are a few common indicators of an outstanding learning institution. We are proud to consistently receive top marks within these parameters, however, we believe that true excellence involves so much more.
By broadening cultural perspectives, mentoring new leaders, influencing international education, collaborating with community and government, and creating innovative programs, we are constantly evolving the way we educate our teachers, principals, counselors, and psychologists and expanding our outreach and community service. In doing so, we improve lives and change the face of education around the globe.
