Purpose of the Handbook

This Handbook is intended to serve as a basic reference for master's students in Rehabilitation Counseling Program to guide them thoroughout their course of study. This Handbook has been developed by the faculty of the Program at The University of Iowa to guide the graduate student from the time of application for admission through the Program to graduation. It is suggested that the Handbook be used as a reference and information guide to facilitate student progress in the Program. This Handbook does not replace the University’s policy and procedures articulated in the Graduate College reprint of the General Catologue available in the Student Services Office (N310 Lindquist Center). This Handbook also is intended to be a supplement to the Student Handbook for the Division of Counseling, Rehabilitation and Student Development, and students are referred to this document for Division-wide requirements and information. It is the student’s responsibility to become familiar with these documents and they should refer to them for official University, College, and Division policies and useful information to supplement the assistance available to them in the advising relationship.
