The REACH experience integrates the areas of Academic Enhancement, Career Development, University Life, and Community Life to create a dynamic collegiate opportunity for students.  REACH is committed to excellence in all areas of student education.  (Click on each link below to find out more.)

Academic Enhancement

Students complete a variety of courses to enhance their knowledge in literature, writing, math, problem solving, personal finances, and career courses.  Elective courses allow students to gain a liberal arts education and take classes related to their career “area of emphasis.”  More on Academic Life...

Career Development

Students receive career guidance from staff and community employers in vocational selection, completing applications and building résumés, internships, job-shadowing experiences, portfolio development, and job interviewing. Career exploration includes classroom instruction and individual advising.  More on Career Life...

Student Life

College is more than attending class, studying for exams, and writing papers.  It’s a memorable opportunity where new friendships are built with students from different backgrounds, hall neighbors become life-long friends, interests are explored, and talents are discovered.  Students live in The University of Iowa residence halls and are responsible for their personal rooms and daily living tasks.

Community Life

Learning reaches far beyond classroom instruction and is improved through real-life, real-world experiences.  REACH students discover the communities of Iowa City and Coralville as they develop their social and life skills. More on Community Life...
