Founded in 1913, The University of Iowa College of Education is highly regarded nationally and internationally for its teaching, research, and innovative educational training. The College offers more than 30-degree programs as well as certification and licensure-preparation opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. The College is divided into four divisions: (1) Rehabilitation and Counselor Education (RCE), (2) Teaching and Learning, (3) Educational Policy and Leadership Studies, and (4) Psychological and Quantitative Foundations. The Annual Summer School is an initiative developed and coordinated by RCE whose mission is to generate and disseminate knowledge, develop skills, and promote attitudes about effective professional practices that foster human development across the life span. The College has served as site and sponsor for the Annual Summer School for Helping Professionals since 1980. The ASSHP provides an opportunity for interested College students to learn practical, useful information while mixing with professionals from throughout the state of Iowa. The Summer School is a service the College provides to professionals from across the social and health based helping professional spectrum.

Iowa Association of Community Providers
The Iowa Association of Community Providers (IACP) is comprised of over 150 community-based organizations whose missions and core services are consistent with the association.  All member organizations provide quality (licensed and accredited) services to children and adults with mental illness and mental health related issues, intellectual disabilities, brain injury and other developmental disabilities. These organizations serve over 100,000 Iowans with disabilities, employ over 20,000 individuals and contribute nearly $1 billion to the Iowa economy.
