result in scores being higher than they should be or misrepresent what students know regarding the larger domain of scores?
Probably not, because ...

Positive Consequences:

  • Teachers have used ITED scores to identify areas of weaknesses and have developed practices that cover general topics rather than exact items found on the ITEDs.

  • Additionally, the tests also help students practice using the format of the test, helping to ensure that errors are a result of lack of achievement and not because of a lack of understanding based on how the question was worded.
