Many educational measurement and statistics faculty are affiliated with Iowa Testing Programs. In fact, Lindquist Center-the building in which the College of Education is located-is named after E. F. Lindquist, who first joined the College as a research assistant in 1925 and who later became the first director of Iowa Testing Programs. He developed the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills and the Iowa Tests of Educational Development, and he co-founded the American College Testing (ACT) Program tests that are used by students throughout the United States.
