The Journal of Research for Educational Leaders is directed at the improvement of schools, student learning, and educational leadership, knowledge and skills.

The Editors of the JREL invite the submission of manuscripts for publication consideration. The Journal is refereed and is published by the Institute for School Leaders in The University of Iowa College of Education. The JREL's intended audience includes educational leaders, staff, and board members.

The Journal of Research for Educational Leaders (JREL) is an on-line electronic journal which utilizes hypermedia throughout its web page. As the reader moves the cursor about the page, the cursor changes in form as one element, text or graphic, is hyper-linked to another element for the article. Rather than remaining within the same browser window, activated links open new browser windows. This feature allows the reader to look at material from included links to references, larger versions of embedded graphics, full tables and video streaming while remaining anchored in the home page of the article. When the reader has finished looking at the linked material, the reader needs simply to close the windows to return to the original article. This multiple window format allows the reader simultaneous access to the article and to its related links in a multitasking environment.
