Iowa End-of-Course Assessments

When the Iowa End-of-Course Program is fully operational, we anticipate reporting scores to participating schools within 10 business days.  Given that Spring 2008 is the first full administration for the science and mathematics assessments, additional time will be needed to complete the necessary psychometric work prior to releasing scores.  If you need the results returned to your school by a particular day, please allow at least 15 business days from the receipt of testing materials at Iowa Testing Programs to the receipt of score reports.

Description

With improved teaching and learning as the primary focus of this end-of-course program, the Iowa End-of-Course (IEOC) assessments measure the extent to which students have met academic standards of high school courses.  The IEOC provides diagnostic information to help students identify strengths and weaknesses in specific content areas.   Results help to monitor student progress throughout the high school career, giving students the opportunity for enrichment or remediation.  Results can be used by teachers to help make instruction more effective.  Schools and districts can help evaluate the performance of students within specific courses.  The IEOCs are being developed to match the courses most frequently offered in math, science, English/Language Arts and social studies.
