Rachel Williams
Women on the Inside

Assistant Professor of Art Education Rachel Williams has worked with prison inmates in several states. Women on the Inside was funded by Humanities Iowa and administered with support from the University of Iowa. It was a two year program with women in prison where they read the works of well-known women writers, attended workshops with visiting authors, and then wrote stories of their own. All the participants were women at the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women. This program includes edited readings by several Women on the Inside participants.
