Closing the Academic Gender Gap:
Helping Boys Succeed in School

Boys are increasingly falling behind when measured by many indicators of academic success including grades, reading skills, graduation rates, persistence in higher education programs, and rates of disciplinary sanctions. This discussion among educators from the University of Iowa analyzes these difficulties and describes tools and strategies educators might consider adopting when working with boys and young men that will help assure boys' academic success.
