Specialist
in Education (Ed.S. degree)
Minimum
total semester hours required: 60 s.h.
Purpose
of Program: To provide advanced graduate education in
higher education in the areas of administration, policy studies,
or an area in higher education of special interest to the
student. This program is appropriate for students not generally
planning to continue for the doctorate. The specialist degree
may also be awarded upon completion of a joint program in
higher education and an academic field comprising a minimum
of 60 semester hours of graduate work or upon completion of
a higher education sequence following a master's degree program.
Admission
Requirements: Applicants for admission must satisfy the
requirements of the Graduate College. Candidates will be selected
on the basis of grade-point average, Graduate Record Examination
scores, and promise for professional growth. Transcripts,
the GRE Test scores, three letters of recommendation, and
a statement of career goals are required for regular admission.
Applications will be reviewed as received during the fall
and spring semesters.
