  The Iowa Testing Programs provides travel support for students enrolled in the College of Education who present (or co-present) at professional meetings.  The Audrey Qualls Travel Award maximum amount is $400 per trip, with a limit of one trip per student per fiscal year (July 1 through June 30).  Any student who wishes to apply for travel support should send Ann Farland, Office of the Dean, N459 Lindquist Center, the attached request form or download it from the College of Education Information for Students website: http://www.education.uiowa.edu/students/

  As noted on the form, we will need a photocopy of the abstract of the paper and a photocopy of the relevant pages of the program verifying the presentation or a copy of the letter in which acceptance of the paper is acknowledged.  The award can be used for conference registration, transportation, hotel expenses and meals.  All reimbursements will follow the guidelines of the University of Iowa Accounts Travel Guidelines:  http://www.uiowa.edu/~fustd/travel/Trav%20Policy/trav_policy.htm

  The request for support should be submitted two weeks before the date of expected departure.  If you have any questions, please contact Ann Farland (335-5388).

The Hayek Fund for Scholars

     The Hayek Fund for Scholars makes strategic awards of up to $1,000 to graduate students and untenured faculty members for career-enhancing activities such as: 

Presentations at academic or professional conferences

Travel to academic job interviews (on campus or at professional/academic conferences)

Travel to and research at archives or libraries

Participation in career development or enhancing seminars

Distribution of a published article to colleagues in your field

Submission of unpublished manuscripts to journals or book.
