Need
help preparing and/or submitting a grant proposal or contract?
The GRSC is available to help with all phases (short of
writing your proposal), including:
- identify internal and/or
external funding opportunities and information that match
your research interests
- obtain/help complete
grant application forms and materials
- provide editorial assistance
on grant proposals and contracts
- develop budgets and
budget narratives
- prepare routing forms
and help route grant proposals and contracts
- help with submissions
to the Human Subjects
Office
- serve as liaison to
the Division of
Sponsored Programs, the UI
Accounting Office, the UI
International Programs Office, funding agencies and
organizations, etc.
- provide information
or find answers to questions about University of Iowa/College
of Education grant-related policies and procedures, UI travel
policies, funding agencies and organizations, schools and
school districts throughout Iowa, etc.

GRSC has education-related resources that can help with your
grant- and research-related activities, including:

- directories of select
public and private funders and funding information
- copies of select funding
announcements and requests for proposals

- directories of schools
and school district information for the State of Iowa
- directories of demographic

and handouts from GRSC workshops and presentations

Grant
and Research-Related Workshops |
Each
semester, the GRSC offers a variety of informational workshops
and presentations for the COE faculty, staff, and students
to supplement grant- and research-related workshops offered
on campus. Where possible, guest speakers from UI offices
such as the Division of Sponsored Programs, the Grant Accounting
Office, and the Office of Human Subjects are brought in to
discuss University policies and procedures. Topics may include:

Grant- and Research-Related Resources and Funding Opportunities
via the Internet
- Overview of the Grant-Seeking

- The GRSC can
be written into grant budgets to provide post-award support
for funded projects. Availability is limited. Contact the
GRSC Director for more
information.

to locate and compile demographic information about Iowa
schools and school districts.
- The GRSC can
help in identifying COE faculty and staff members with specific
research interests.
- The GRSC is available to help coordinate
grant-or research-related topical interest group meetings,
brown bag discussions, seminars, colloquia, etc.
The
College of Education Grant and Research Services Center (GRSC)
provides support for grant and research projects, training
projects, and service projects in the College by:
- assisting College of Education (COE) faculty, staff
and students in identifying internal and external funding
sources
- providing information and workshops for COE faculty,
staff, and students on grant-related topics
- providing support services for the development, implementation,
and utilization of research, training, and service projects
in the College.
