Marketing and Promotion
The University of Iowa College of Education Office of External Relations is the link between the College and its many external constituents. Key stakeholders include alumni; current and potential students; local, state, and federal representatives; and the statewide educational community.
Mission
The mission of the College of Education’s Office of External Relations is to:
- Promote the College of Education’s commitment to teaching, research, artistic creation, professional practice, and selected forms of public service in the state, region, nation, and the world.
- Establish interaction and maintain relationships with Iowans, alumni, current and potential students, the community, elected representatives at local, state, and federal levels, and government agencies and their professional staffs.
- Strengthen strategic partnerships, advancement activities, and the College’s national and international visibility.
- Promote problem-solving applied research, scholarships and donations, and College and University agendas and strategic plans.
- Consistently communicate to various audiences through a variety of means, including events and initiatives, UITV and multimedia programming, and online and print publications such as the biannual alumni magazine, Education@Iowa, monthly newsletter, Education First, annual reports and brochures.
- Serve as a liaison between the College of Education, University News Services, and the local, regional, and national media.
