Higher Education - Admission Requirements

Students applying to any of the degree programs in higher education must meet the general requirements for admission as stated by the Graduate College and given at the beginning of this section. Three letters of recommendation and a statement of education and professional goals are required also for admission to any of the degree programs in higher education. Applicants are selected on the basis of grade-point average, GRE General Test Scores, and promise for professional growth. Applications are reviewed by the Admissions Committee, the Program Coordinator, and the Division Chair.

Master of Arts. Applicants must meet the requirements specified above. Complete application materials must be submitted by October 1 for spring semester admission and by April 1 for summer session and fall semester admission.

Specialist in Education. All applicants for this degree must meet the requirements specified above. Complete application materials must be submitted by October 1 for spring semester admission and by April 1 for summer session and fall semester admission.

Doctor of Philosophy. Applicants to the Ph.D. degree program must meet all of the requirements specified above. Complete application materials must be received by December 1 regardless of the session in which the student intends to register.
