Welcome to Educational Policy and Leadership Studies The Department of Educational Policy and Leadership Studies (EPLS) offers graduate degree programs that prepare education leaders, teachers, professors, and researchers in the fields of Educational Leadership, Higher Education and Student Affairs, and Schools, Culture, and Society. The academic programs, faculty, and students in EPLS are diverse in background and disciplinary perspective. EPLS programs enroll approximately 250 students and utilize 21 full-time faculty members. The EPLS faculty is recognized nationally for its scholarly productivity. Both the Schools, Culture, and Society and Higher Education and Student Affairs programs were ranked among the top 10 nationally, in terms of faculty productivity, by Academic Analytics. The Higher Education and Student Affairs program was also ranked #9 nationally among all public universities by USNews. EPLS faculty members are well-known for their interdisciplinary research interests, as exemplified by many publications in history, philosophy, sociology, law, testing and evaluation, and other specialized education journals. Faculty and graduate students engage in both qualitative and quantitative research. Our research laboratory is equipped with leading-edge technologies and provides both faculty and students with access to large data files and other research materials. Students work closely with faculty and often publish jointly. Our programs are highly respected in the job market. Our graduates hold prominent positions in government, in school districts, in colleges and universities, and in business throughout the United States and internationally.
