Two faculty members will receive recognition from the American Educational Research Association (AERA) this spring in Vancouver.
AERA Division J selected Visiting Assistant Professor Michael Hevel (PhD ’11 as co-winner of the 2011 Outstanding Dissertation Award.
Committee Chair, University of Michigan Associate Professor Deborah Carter, said the committee was quite impressed with Hevel’s dissertation, “especially the quality of his analyses and the sophistication of his writing,” she said.
Hevel’s dissertation is titled, “Betwixt Brewings: A History of College Students and Alcohol, 1820-1933 University of Iowa.”
AERA also selected Won-Chan Lee (PhD ‘98), associate director of the Center for Advanced Studies in Measurement and Assessment, as a 2011 Outstanding Reviewer.
