Hawkeye Caucus 2012—A group students, staff, and alumni joined Dean Margaret Crocco to represent the College of Education at the second annual Hawkeye Caucus at the State Capitol in Des Moines. A photo essay illustrates legislator and lobbyist interest and impressions of the College’s educational research, outreach, and preparation of its students for the workforce.
Focus on Research: Faculty and Students Share Research at AERA—Nearly 50 College of Education faculty and graduate students presented their research at the annual American Education Research Association (AERA)convention in Vancouver in April. Honors and Awards
Hancher-Finkbine Medallion—The University of Iowa honored Professor Nicholas Colangelo with one of its most prestigious awards recognizing leadership, learning, and loyalty.
Margaret P. Benson Memorial Scholarship—Counseling Psychology doctoral student Munni Deb was recognized for her commitment to women’s issues, diversity, and social activism.
International Engagement: Influencing Education in Russia—The University of Iowa is one of two institutions a delegation of 10 Russian educators visited for an in-depth look at embracing 21st century challenges. The Belin-Blank International Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development hosted the delegation for their Iowa visit.
