Computer Virus Information (PC/Windows/Mac)

The University of Iowa currently has Symantec (Norton) Antivirus 10 for PC/Windows and Macintosh systems. The Norton products are licensed from August of this year until the contract is cancelled. The install files are available for download from the ITS website (http://helpdesk.its.uiowa.edu/software) and CD''s are available at the IMU Bookstore for a nominal fee.

Please note that the University of Iowa discontinued support for McAfee Anti-virus and Virex in March of 2002. Norton Anti-virus has been licensed as an alternative software product.   It is recommended at this time to uninstall McAfee and Virex and upgrade to the latest version available of Norton Anti-virus from Symantec at this time.
