Outlook - Not Receiving/Sending Messages In the last couple of weeks the ITS mail server that Outlook connects to has been experiencing some stability problems. During these periods of limited use the Outlook e-mail client has been going off-line intermittently for users. The impact of this change to off-line is that Outlook is then rendered incapable of sending/receiving new messages. Outgoing messages will be held in the Outbox until the system is again on-line and no new messages will be received. If your Outlook client goes offline you can change it back to online by following the steps listed below: First check the Outlook mail client to verify the client is off-line (see Graphic 1). If there is a server issue you should wait until the server issues are resolved. There is a link from the ITS website that will explain the outage and when things will be back to normal (see link below). Next, highlight and uncheck the "Work Offline" item to force the client to go back on-line (Normal Operation - see Graphic 2). Once the client has been reset you should be able to hit Send/Receive to synchronize the client to the server. All Outbox messages should send and new messages should appear in your inbox. If this does not occur please call the COE HelpDesk at ext. 5-5623.
