Citrix Remote Application Server

The Citrix server was setup for COE faculty, students and staff to use to have access to the latest versions of SPSS and SAS as well as other UI licensed applications.  These programs are used by personnel in the College of Education for a multitude of tasks including research and data analysis.  The increasing demand for these programs caused us to re-examine alternative ways of deploying the software.  Using the Citrix system allows us to have the software available to all users without the need to purchase a copy for each individual system.  The Citrix remote application server allows the user to run the software on a virtual server and still have access to files on their local computer.   If you need access to the Citrix server applications please send an e-mail to wayne-kintz@uiowa.edu or call the ETC Helpdesk at 335-5624 and make sure to provide us with all UI HawkID’s that will need access to the applications.  All systems that connect to the Citrix server will require a Metaframe client to be installed to allow for proper access to the system.
