About the Committee

The College of Education Diversity Committee is an active advisory committee that is comprised of faculty, staff, and students. Membership on the Diversity Committee is voluntary, and includes persons from a diverse range of ethnic/cultural, gender, sexual/affectional orientation, and professional backgrounds.

Mission

The College of Education Diversity Committee recognizes the value of diversity in persons and in perspectives. It is our goal to create an environment in which all members of our community will have opportunities to thrive personally and professionally.

Purpose of the Diversity Committee

The Diversity Committee serves the College of Education through:

• Providing support to students
• Advising the Dean on recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty, staff, and student body
• Increasing awareness of diversity in the college
