EDSITEment - “The best of the humanities on the web from the National Endowment for the Humanities.” Lesson plans, learning activities, and peer-reviewed websites.

Gateway to Educational Materials - Lesson plans available through browsing subjects or keywords or performing specific search.

HotChalk's Lesson Plan Page - over 3,000 free lesson plans across the content areas, organized by subject area, grade range and lesson topics, with links to discussion forums, worksheets, experiments and other resources for teachers.

InfoMine - Large resource comprising lesson plan sites, online reference sources, directories of U.S. schools, plus additional educational links.

LessonPlanz - Searchable directory of lesson plans for all subjects grades K-12. Also allows browsing and offers worksheets and webquests.

MiddleWeb - Comprehensive resource for middle school teachers includes links to many articles related to teaching middle school as well as lesson plans.

PBS TeacherSource - Over 3000 lesson plans and activities. Searchable by subject and by standard.

Thinkfinity - built upon the Verizon Foundation’s education program formerly known as Verizon MarcoPolo. A comprehensive site for lesson plans and resources for K-12 academic subjects and literacy instruction, standards-based and research-based educational and literacy resources for teachers, instructors and students.

Awesome Library - Links to sites organized by area of interest. Some lesson plans.

DiscoverySchool.com - Lesson plans K-12, puzzlemaker, clip art, and sites for students.

Educational Hotlinks for Middle School People - Produced by New Jersey Consortiuum for Middle Schools and Kean University, lists websites which have been chosen for their quality and special relevance for middle level educators. Includes content areas, guidance, lesson plans, media literacy, professional resources and more.

Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators - Links to sites by subject, teacher helpers, and search tools.

Mid-Continent Research for Education and Learning (McREL) - McREL nonprofit organization whose purpose is to improve education through applied research and development. K-12 standards, links by subject, and some activities.

The NC Education Place - Among the pages you will find information on professional development by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Learning Styles is an online tutorial on the basics of accommodating for student learning styles. You will also find links to lesson plans and tools, testing tips and sites for integrating technology into instruction.  WebQuests, Windows to the Internet, Virtual Fieldtrips and Resources are special features for teachers, parents and students providing safe educational links and information.       

New York Times Learning Network - News summaries, news quiz, lesson plans grades 3-12, and web tours.

 

North Central Regional Educational Laboratory (NCREL) - A member of the Regional Educational Laboratory Network providing research-based resources to educators. Offers information on federal policy, links to state departments of education, and links to sites for professional development.

 

Education Associations

The Association for Curriculum and Development (ASCD) - Tables of contents plus some full-text articles from Educational Leadership, online job bank, and education news are some of this site’s features.

National Education Association (NEA) - Among the features of this site are education news, classroom tips, and information on Read Across America.

Phi Delta Kappa - This site offers tables of contents and some full-text articles from Kappan magazine and other information of interest to educators.
