Resources at the University of Iowa

The Belin - Blank Honors Center is a K-16 facility on the campus of the University of Iowa that promotes a living learning community. The Belin Family Research Library houses books and materials for parents, students, and teachers. The collection focuses on education of the gifted, professional development, invention, math, curriculum materials such as Advanced Placement textbooks. The library also houses theses for the Honors Program.  Check the menu under “About the Center” for related links.

Davidson Institute-GT Cybersource - comprehensive site which includes resources, links, and full-text articles related to working with gifted students

Hoagies' Gifted Education Page  - offers resources, articles, books and links for Parents, for Educators, Counselors, Administrators and other Professionals, and for Kids & Teens.

Talented and Gifted Education Resources on the Internet -  Provides a list of links to gifted and talented resources for teachers and students . Created  by Raymond E. Schroeder of the Office of Technology-Enhanced Learning  at the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Te Kete Ipurangi - a news page for the gifted and talented community at the Online Learning Centre - a part of New Zealand's bilingual education portal. This site provides a gateway to useful education-related content, information and materials relevant to the education of gifted and talented students.

Professional Organizations and Information

Council for Exceptional Children -  Largest professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted.

Iowa Department of Education –  information and links relating to gifted and talented education in the State of Iowa. Includes a link to frequently asked questions.

National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC)   -  Nonprofit organization of parents, teachers, educators, other professionals, and community leaders united to address the unique needs of gifted and talented youth.
