For faculty, current and future teachers,
this lab is a training and research tool. Our future teachers at the
University of Iowa can have exposure to assistive technology through
class presentation's, workshops, and hands-on training.
For College of Education students with disabilities,
this lab allows equal access to software and computer programs offered
at all University of Iowa Instructional Technology Centers (ITC)s.
College of Education students with visual, cognitive, or orthopedic
disabilities use a variety of assistive technology devices to aid them
in their educational goals leading to graduation.
For researchers, this lab offers
an ideal setting to gather information about the utility of assistive
devices in educating future teachers and the impact of assistive
technology training towards utilization in the classroom. As a training
tool the lab is ideal in that all future teachers from the University of
Iowa can have exposure to assistive technology through class
presentations, workshops, and hands-on training if desired.
The MAT Lab is a mobile assistive technology lab that allows
individuals to become familiar with AT software and hardware via
laptop.
