Workshop 2: March/April ITAP Workshop

Purpose

To further develop participants' understanding of the concepts, principles, and procedures associated with judging the technical adequacy of an assessment system. In addition, participants were provided the opportunity (in both the morning and the afternoon) to apply concepts and procedures associated with technical adequacy to their team's local setting. For example, considerable time was spent in the morning to help teams understand the concepts associated with "Interpretation and Reporting," and teams were asked to reflect on how these concepts applied to how their district has communicated assessment results in its 2001-2002 Annual Progress Report (APR). Time was also provided for each team to begin to gather technical adequacy information about their own multiple measures, or to evaluate the sufficiency of previously existing technical adequacy evidences that the district might have available. An ITAP instructional team was available to provide consultation to district teams as needed.
