The Iowa ePortfolio™ Model

The Carver Teacher Project

The Carver Charitable Trust has awarded The University of Iowa College of Education a generous grant supporting the statewide implementation of an electronic portfolio system that will document teachers' mastery of Iowa teaching standards. Over a three year period, three hundred Iowa teachers will receive training and monetary support toward developing their professional portfolio.

Year one - 2003: 50 Iowa teachers will be selected as Carver Teachers. Training will begin in November, 2003. Registration is open to school districts that participated in the ePortfolio™ workshops for administrators in May, 2003.

Year two - 2004: 100 Iowa teachers will be selected as Carver Teachers. Training will begin in November, 2004. Registration is open to all districts.

Year three - 2005: 150 Iowa teachers will be selected as Carver Teachers. Training will begin in April, 2005. Registration is open to all districts.
