John NjueJohn Njue hails from Kenya and moved to Iowa City to attend graduate school at The University of Iowa, graduating with a PhD in Education in 2004. He also holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Kenyatta University and a Masters degree in Linguistics and African Languages from the University of Nairobi. He has experience teaching languages spanning over twenty years. He taught English and Swahili in high schools in Kenya, taught Swahili courses at Kenyatta University for eight years and has been teaching Swahili as a foreign language in the Department of Linguistics at The University of Iowa since 1997. He has been participating in the International Classroom Journey through International Programs at the University of Iowa and has visited area schools to teach students about Kenya and Africa in general.
