Instructors
Tracy Davis has a B.A. in English, an M.A. in Student Development in Postsecondary Education, and a Ph.D., Student Development in Postsecondary Education, all from The University of Iowa. He is Associate Professor and CSP Program Coordinator, Educational and Interdisciplinary Studies, at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. He worked for the Belin-Blank Center as a graduate assistant from 1993-1996. He also coordinated the residence life and student activities component of the National Scholar’s Academies in the summers of 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1996. This is his second year as an instructor for Iowa Governor’s Institute.
Erica Greers hails from Dyersville, Iowa, the home of the Field of Dreams. She earned her B.A. in English and her M.A. in Student Development in Post-Secondary Education from The University of Iowa. Erica currently works as the Director of Student Activities and Leadership Programs at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. While in school at Iowa, she worked as an RA and coordinator for summer programs, and taught the Iowa Governor’s Institute last year. Last October, Erica got married and is currently living in Iowa City with her husband, Aaron, and their Shiba Inu, Kinnick. She loves to teach and interact with students through BBC programs and is very excited about this summer!
Josh Walehwa joins us from St. Louis, MO where he is the Associate Director of Residential Life at Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to his time at Wash U, he worked in housing and leadership at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA and Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA. Josh earned his B.A. & M.A. in Art Education, and an M.A. in Student Development in Post-Secondary Education all from the University of Iowa. This will be Josh's second summer working with the Iowa's Governor's Institute. On a personal note, Josh has a 9 year old son named Harold (yes he does have a purple crayon) and a cat named Bolo.
