College of Education: Belin-Blank Center

Challenges for Elementary School Students (CHESS)

Iowa City Session 1 - June 16-27, 2008

Writing Your World - 9 am-12 pm

If you love to read, write, observe, learn, and talk with others about your thoughts and discoveries, then this is the course…

for you. We will use stories and poetry, some already published and some created by participants in our class, as both windows and mirrors through which we can view ourselves and the world outside of ourselves. We’ll read published pieces and use them as models for our own writing, and we’ll explore different approaches and different forms.
