Future Bests Math at CHESS (Grades 2-3) - 1 pm-4 pm

BAM! Kick it up a notch! Come and explore the next levels of…

mathematics for your child. Expand knowledge and understanding of the area of two dimensional shapes. Explore the connections between fractions and decimals. Generate and graph rules related to a sequence of numbers. Find these and much more in a two week concentration of math. It will be “just what the doctor ordered.” The class will be based on the NCTM’s (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics) latest mathematics curriculum focal points.

Instructors

DeAnn ScearceDeAnn Scearce has worked for the For the past eight years for the Mount Vernon Community Schools. She is currently both a teacher and Extended Learning Program (Gifted Education) Coordinator for the district and works with students in fourth through eighth grade. She earned her degree in Psychology and Mathematics from the University of Iowa, where she also completed her Teaching Certification in 7-12 Mathematics and 7-12 Psychology. In addition, she also holds an endorsement in K-12 talented and gifted education.
