ABOUT CHALLENGE LATIN

Introduction
Why take Latin? Will you have higher test scores because more than 80 percent of standardized test vocabulary comes from Latin words? Yes! Will Latin help you in the Sciences because it serves as foundation language for these disciplines? Yes! Will Latin help you learn other languages because French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Romanian are derived from it? Yes! Will you have an awesome time exploring the language, culture, and history of one of the most amazing civilizations in the history of the world? Yes! Yes! Yes!

The Challenge Latin program is designed to strengthen 4th-6th grade students' abilities. Students will receive direct instruction, and they will learn many things about the Latin language—writing and reading. During class time, students will be expected to participate in activities. Occasionally, challenging assignments may be provided for home exploration.
