MATH EXCURSIONS: GEOMETRY

For Students in Grades 7-8

Introduction
The Math Excursions program is designed to enhance and accelerate 7th-8th grade students' understanding of geometry. The class will begin with Euclidean geometry, and class activities will include deductive proof, logic, and constructions using a compass and straight edge. Other geometries will be discussed, including transformation, coordinate, hyperbolic, elliptic, and fractal geometry. National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) standards and activities related to properties, measurement, and relationships of points, lines, angles, surfaces, and solids will comprise many class activities. Students will receive direct instruction and do independent work. Some homework may be assigned.

Instruction
The Math Excursions Geometry program is designed to be an intensive mentorship program. We are committed to having high quality instructors. Click here to read more about our instructors.

Class Size
Minimum of ten, maximum of fourteen students per class.
