The University of Iowa has developed a program for the Talented and Gifted Endorsement that has been approved by the Department of Education for the State of Iowa.
The program for the approved endorsement includes four strands:
Strand 1: Psychology of the Gifted (7C:123, 7C:124, 7C:137, 7C:238*)
Strand 2: Programming for the Gifted (7E/S:121, 7S/P:122*, 7E/S:124, 7E/S/U:125, 7E/S:126, 7S:172, 7S:173*, 7E/S/U:196*, 7S:280*)
Strand 3: Administration and Supervision of Gifted Programs (7B:111)
Strand 4: Practicum experience in Gifted Programs (arranged through the Belin-Blank Center.)
All of the courses and workshops offered through the Belin-Blank Center correspond to the four strands. Course numbers for Summer 2007 workshops are indicated for each strand. Courses designated with an * may be taken more than one time (focusing on different content) for the Talented and Gifted Endorsement.
