In addition to other workshops, the Belin-Blank Center continues to sponsor the only Advanced Placement Summer Institute in the State of Iowa. The Advanced Placement Teacher Training Institute will sponsor two sessions during July, 2009, at the John and Mary Pappajohn Education Center. College Board consultants provide an intensive experience in developing and teaching an AP course. Teachers receive an overview of the AP Program and prepare syllabi, lesson plans, and classroom materials applicable to an AP class in their subject area. Academic credit earned for AP workshops counts in the programming strand toward TAG endorsement.
