In the summer of 2008, 50 students from the Hangzhou and Zhejiang regions of China will participate in a special three-week summer program for gifted students. Students will be exposed to university faculty and coursework, prepare for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), participate in recreational activities with gifted U.S. students, and go on field trips to local attractions.
At the end of the program, 25 students will be selected for early admission to The University of Iowa. These 25 students will return the following year and receive extensive advising, consultation services, and transition programming through the Belin-Blank Center.
